The junior Section of the Sea Cadet Corps is for Children aged 10 - 12 years, it is enormous fun - the Juniors learn many new skills such as first aid, cooking, seamanship, communication skills and many other things.
 
Below is the training programme that we follow for the Juniors and it has proved very successful as they all love doing the activities and learn a great deal from doing them!
 
JUNIOR TRAINING PROGRAMME
 
Junior Sea Cadets (JSC) earn achievement badges as they progress.
They can also earn promotion to Junior 1st then 2nd class (J1C or J2C), one or two blue star badges.
All the badges are sewn onto a Brassard which is worn on the shoulder and upper arm, the badges are worn in the order shown in the picture.
 
 
 
Unit - Red
• Choose Activities from the Unit Section in the Junior Cadet Programme Guide.
• Undergo the appropriate briefing and then take part in at least 15 of the practical Unit based Activities.
 
 
 
Waterborne - Blue
• Choose Activities from the Waterborne section in the JSC
Programme Guide.
• Undergo the appropriate briefing and then take part in at least 15
activity modules.
 
 
 Outdoor & Recreation - Green
• Choose Activities from the Outdoor Section in the Junior Cadet Programme Guide.
• Undergo the appropriate briefing and then take part in at least
15 activity modules.
 
 
 Community & Citizenship - Yellow
• Choose activities to learn about your community and take an
 active part in it.
• Undergo the appropriate briefing and then take part in at least
15 activities modules.
 
 
 
 
Commodore’s Broad Pennant Award
• To achieve this award, the Junior Sea Cadet must complete a
further 20 activity modules spread over the four coloured activity
